DS|Manage360 v2.17 Update

DynaSCAPE will be updating your Manage360 site to version 2.17 on, Monday February 4, 2013 at 5:00 AM EDT.

Please note that your Manage360 site will be unavailable for about 60 minutes starting at that time.

What's New


This release makes some changes to the management of your customers, and will make changes to your data. 

As a result some action on your part is required.   Here is what is coming in this release.

You told us that the complexity of having accounts and locations and having to create a location for every account (and linking contacts to each location) was too much work and more convoluted than it needed to be.  Why make it that hard when the majority of the time you just had one location per account?  We examined the situation and found that in over 95% of cases you simply have one location for an account. 

As a result we decided to merge Locations and Accounts.   We did this by taking the address and other information from the location and moving it into the account.  We then eliminated the need to track lists of locations, etc. 

What about the other 5%???

Well the other 5% turns out to be either customers where you send the bill to a different address, or property management companies and other customers where there may legitimately be multiple locations.   In those cases we either allow you to specify a different billing address for the account, or we let you link the account to another account for billing purposes.

Action Required! - Account Naming

As part of merging accounts and locations, we had to decide what to do with the account and location name.  Whereas before you had an account name and a location name, now you will just have an account name. 

We've decided to make the account name a composite of the old account name plus the old location name added to the end.  So if you had an account named "Jones, Bob", and a location named "Jones Residence" then the new account will be named "Jones, Bob - Jones Residence".

If that is OK with you then great - we don't require any action from you.  If however you would rather just keep the original account name, or just the original location name as the new account name, then we can make this change for you. 

After we update your system on Monday morning, take a look at your accounts and examine the changes we have made. If you require some naming changes, please contact us at support@dynascape.com, and we will make the changes for you.   Don't worry, we have all your original data, so nothing is lost and we can fine tune the naming to meet your expectations!
