SiteCapture Pro uses PDA devices to record property measurements and generate drawings on site

The result of a partnership between DynaSCAPE and the NuPoints software company, SiteCapture Pro is the first mobile site drawing tool of its kind to offer both time savings and improved accuracy to any landscape designer who needs to measure property boundaries and record their dimensions.  By allowing site measurements to be entered directly into a PDA, SiteCapture Pro brings automation to a part of the landscape designer’s job that has until now depended solely upon manual note-taking for its accuracy.

DynaSCAPE President Mike Bosch calls SiteCapture Pro “an elegant solution to a thorny problem.  Lots of designers have the measuring of a site down to a science.  Where they run into problems, however, is in not having a reliable place to record all of those measurements.  If you’re just jotting them down all day long as notes and sketches on paper, you’re bound to miss some.  Missed measurements mean either inaccurate drawings or return visits to the same site, both of which cost time and money.”

In addition to providing a more reliable way to record job site measurements, SiteCapture Pro also transforms those measurements into the base plan drawings that landscape professionals use as the springboard for all of their subsequent designing.  Back at the office, the full-scale plans that SiteCapture Pro generates from entered measurements can either be printed out, for those landscape designers who want to draw on them by hand, or imported directly into more sophisticated CAD-based design tools such as DynaSCAPE Design, for those who prefer to do their designing by computer.

“When a SiteCapture Pro drawing is imported into DynaSCAPE Design, it automatically becomes a native DynaSCAPE drawing, complete with appropriate line weights and separate layers for property lines, buildings, fences, driveways, patios, plants and so on,” explains Bosch.  “Simply by entering your on-site measurements into SiteCapture Pro, you’ve not only captured all the dimensions, you’ve also started creating your DynaSCAPE base plan.  That’s a huge time saver.”
