How to change your Display Settings for DS|Design v6

DS|Design will not run properly in Vista or Windows 7 when the Display Settings are not set to the default settings:

Windows 7: Set your Windows Display to “Smaller - 100% (default)”. DS|Design v6 will not run correctly if you changed your settings to “Medium (125%)” or “Larger (150%)”. If you try to run v6 with your display set to 125% or 150%, DynaSCAPE will warn you to change it to the default.

Vista: Set your Windows Display to “Default scale (96 DPI)”. DS|Design v6 will not run correctly if you changed your settings to “Larger scale (120 DPI)” or to a “Custom DPI”. If you try to run v6 with your display set to 120 DPI or a custom DPI, DynaSCAPE will warn you to change it to the default.

Note: For now your computer's default DPI must be used unless Legacy rendering is selected. Restoring the flexibility to choose custom DPI settings will be addressed in a future release.

Changing your Display Settings in Windows Vista:

Important Note: If you are using Windows Vista 64bit, do not change the theme to Aero until after the you run the update to v6. Changing the theme to Aero before the update will prevent the proper installation of some of the necessary components. If your theme is set to Aero already you need to change it to Classic or Basic before running the update.

  1. Right click anywhere there is open space on your desktop
  2. Click on Personalize
  3. Click on Adjust font size (DPI)
  4. Check Default scale (96 DPI)
  5. Click on Apply and then click OK
