How to change your Windows theme to Aero for DS|Design v6

Vista and Windows 7 users will experience the best performance using one of the Windows “Aero Themes”. Using a “Basic Theme” will affect performance in some areas such as the Plant Labeling panel.

Changing your Theme to Aero in Windows 7:

1. Click on the Start button
2. Click on Control Panel
3. Click on Appearance and Personalization
4. Click on Personalization
5. Click on any one of the Aero Themes
6. Click OK

Changing your Theme to Aero in Windows Vista:

Important Note: If you are using Windows Vista 64bit, do not change the theme to Aero until after the you run the update to v6. Changing the theme to Aero before the update will prevent the proper installation of some of the necessary components. If your theme is set to Aero already you need to change it to Classic or Basic before running the update.

1. Right click anywhere there is open space on your desktop
2. Click on Personalize
3. Click on Window Color and Appearance
4. At the bottom of the Windows Color and Appearance window click “Open classic appearance properties for more color options”
5. Look at the scroll list and select "Windows Aero" as the new scheme
6. Click on Apply and then click OK
