Changes and Improvements for DS|Manage (Web) 1.5

This release includes significant improvements to the usability and capabilities of DS|Manage (Web).

This release will be available automatically to all users as of April 15, 2010 at 10:00 AM EDT

New Feature!  General Condition Calculator
One of the most exciting new features of this release, the new general conditions feature will allow you to add general conditions to your estimate automatically.  Things such as travel time, load and unload, and daily cleanup can be automatically added to your estimate based on the number of days the job will take and the number of workers per crew.  Equipment like trucks and bobcats can also be added to the estimate automatically based on the number of days the job will take.  These general conditions can then be spread across the estimate automatically so they are evenly distributed across your different prices.  The process of adding and allocating general conditions will go from minutes or even hours to merely seconds.

 


New Feature!  Production Rates by Plant Size
Another exciting new feature that will save you time and energy is the ability to specify production rates for each plant size.  Any plant that is added to your estimate or imported from your design will automatically include the labor required based on the production rate for that plant size.   This can be done in the sizes section under the cost book tab.


New Feature!  Richer Proposals

All notes fields that appear on the proposal have been rich text enabled to allow for richer content on your proposals.  This means that you will be able to bold text, underline, change fonts, etc…  This will be available for the following fields:

  • Estimate Scope of Work
  • Work Area Notes
  • Kit Notes
  • Proposal Headers and Footers

Additionally, proposals will now be generated in Microsoft Word® format producing a much more professional proposal that is easily customized.


New Look!  Updated Look and Feel

The overall look and feel of the application was also enhanced and refined to make it even more user friendly than before.  Examples of this are the estimate screen and the general layout of the home page.


Other Improvements:

Automatic generation of payment schedules

  • The ability to specify multiple payment schedules with any number of intervals
  • Automatic generation of payment amounts for each interval

Enhanced version control system

  • You are now able to track multiple versions of an estimate with the system keeping track of the version numbers automatically.
