Changes and Improvements for DS|Manage Online v2.1

This release includes resolutions to issues and significant improvements to the usability and capabilities of DS|Manage Online v2.0.

This release will be available automatically to all v2.0 users as of May 5, 2011 at 7:00 AM EDT

Please note that this upgrade is meant for current DS|Manage Online v2.0 users (v2.0 users will have the customer & contact tabs available).

For people who are still using DS|Manage Online v1.5 there will be a 1 hour webinar held on May 13, 2011 at 2:00 PM EDT to show the enhancements between v1.5 and v2.0. All remaining DS|Manage Online v1.5 users will be upgraded to v2.1 as of May 16, 2011 at 7:00 AM EDT.

Other Improvements!

    • Allow decimal entry for actual days on general conditions.
    • Allow you to enter single quotes in a work area name.
    • Material take off from Dynascape Design now includes the plant name in the kit name when importing into an estimate.
    • Subcontractor totals show properly on the estimate screen.
    • Kit taxes can have decimal places.
    • Time sheets are properly totaling numbers for reporting.
    • Customer name showing properly on the proposal.
    • Prevent pasting in rich text to stop proposal generation issues. Please note this is a temporary solution to the proposal generation issues that we are experiencing.
    • Taxes on invoice are working properly.
    • Work order report showing proper customer information.
    • Removed the October date defaulting on new estimates.
    • Refreshing prospect/customer list when adding a new prospect/customer.
    • Resolved issues regarding plant and material import.

Details on Some of the New Features & Improvements 

Estimate Analysis Report

This new report provides the capability to view the overhead, break even and profit calculations at the item level of the estimate. To view the Estimate Analysis Report, open an estimate, then click Tools/Actions>Reports> Click on Estimate Analysis. Now you can print the report, export it to Microsoft Excel or Acrobat (PDF) format, as with all other reports.


Production Rates for Materials

Another exciting new feature that will save you time and energy is the ability to specify production rates for each Material.  Any material that is added to your estimate or imported from your design will automatically include the labor required based on the production rate for that material.   This can be done in the Materials detail screen in the Cost Book.  


Update Production Rates for Multiple Sizes in Cost Book

A time saving feature has been added which allows you to select then update multiple Sizes in your Cost Book.  This new feature allows you to update production rates for multiple sizes at once.


Won/Lost Opportunity Changes

Now when you close an opportunity by changing the outcome to Lost, Not Qualified, or Won, you have an option to choose an outcome reason and add comments.  If an opportunity is Won, the probability percentage will automatically be set to 100%, if it is Lost or Not Qualified then it is set to 0%.   

You can view the Status, Outcome and Comment in the General Tab in the Opportunity Info Screen.


Specify Reason When Estimate is Won

When an estimate is won, the Outcome Reason for winning the estimate can be specified, which in turn will Close the Opportunity, set the Outcome to Won and set the probability percentage of the Opportunity to 100%.


Refresh Estimates Items

A new feature that allows a user after making a cost book change the capability to go back to an estimate and refresh either the costs, profit and/or the overhead of the estimate items. This feature is available from the estimates common actions menu.
