Changes and Improvements for DynaSCAPE Design 5.3 (Quote/Manage Integration)
In addition to changes outlined in the release notes for DS|Design 5.3, we’ve made good on the promise to complete some of the items that were left out of the original release of DS|Design v5, specifically integration with DS|Quote and DS|Manage. We have also upgrade Quote and Manage to version 4.5 to complete this integration and to link to the new Horticopia-powered Online Plant Database.

Changes for DS|Quote and DS|Manage 4.5 – See DS|Quote/Manage 4.5 Release Notes
Link the Plant Label Panel to your Price List: Now you can take advantage of the completely redesigned Plant Labeling Panel and still be able to link to your Quote or Manage Price List for labeling and generating detailed quotes from your drawings. The Plant Label Panel has been simplified to improve labeling efficiency, while still enabling you to perform advanced searches for plants, search by Supplier and search by Kit Name. The same labeling tools and options as before are available at your fingertips.
Link Design Labels to your Price List: The new Design Label panel, which replaces the Hardscape Labeling panel, has been completely redesigned and configured for your benefit. As described in the full release notes for 5.3, you label all non-plant items with ‘descriptive’ labels, while still being able to include takeoff quantities for estimating. These descriptive labels, which you create as a custom list in the Design Label Editor, can be linked to a Kit and/or a Material in your Quote/Manage Price List. This new labeling concept eliminates the need to label design items twice, once for your clients and then again for estimating. When generating a quote in DS|Quote or DS|Manage, these kit and materials will be added to your quote, including the quantities attached to the Design Label (both hidden and visible).

Generate Material List from Design: As described in the full release notes for version 5.3, the Export to Word/Excel in DS|Design now includes Materials. The materials added to the list are taken from the Design Labels on the drawing and incorporate prices and units as they are found in your Quote or Manage Price List. Design Labels must be linked to a Price List Kit or Material in order to include the prices in this list.
How to receive this update:
Using version 5 already? If you are currently using DS|Design version 5.0, 5.1 or 5.2, this update can be downloaded by going to Start > (All) Programs > DynaSCAPE > Design > Check for DynaSCAPE Design Updates
Not using version 5 yet? If you are using a pre-v5 version of design (v4.4 or older), you cannot upgrade using the internet update. Version 5 requires a new upgrade CD that can be requested through the My Account page or by calling DynaSCAPE at 1.800.710.1900 (free to current subscribers). If you wish to continue using DS|Quote or DS|Manage must upgrade to DS|Quote or DS|Manage v4.5, which can also be requested through My Account page (also free to current subscribers).
