ANSWERS TO MOST COMMON DYNASCAPE QUESTIONS

In Windows 10

  1. Click Windows Logo in bottom left corner
  2. All Apps
  3. Scroll down and click on DynaScape
  4. Click on Check for DynaScape Design Updates and follow the prompts (for DS|Color, click on Check for Updates)

In Windows 8.1

  1. Click Windows logo in bottom left corner
  2. Scroll down and click on arrow in bottom left
  3. Scroll over to DynaScape
  4. Click on Check for DynaScape Design Updates and follow the prompts (for DS|Color, click on Check for Updates)

In Windows 7

  1. Click Start menu
  2. Click All Programs
  3. Scroll down and click on DynaScape
  4. Click on Check for DynaScape Design Updates and follow the prompts (for DS|Color, click on Check for Updates)

Yes. Login to the My Account section on our website to view details such as your renewal/anniversary date, your payment frequency and your credit card details.

If your subscription has lapsed or gone past due, please call us at 1.800.710.1900 press 2 for Sales to get back on track and continue to take advantage of the DynaScape Subscription.

Subscriptions are renewed automatically on the anniversary date of your purchase, according to the payment terms (i.e., monthly, quarterly or annually) that you chose with the purchase of your DynaScape Subscription. You are notified of the upcoming subscription renewal by email 14 days before expiration. If you wish to changed your credit card details, you may do so in the My Account section.

If you find that you need to cancel your DynaScape Subscription at any time, notify us and we will process the cancellation for you. Just call DynaScape Sales at 1.800.710.1900 (press 2 for Sales) to opt-out.

If you are using DS|Design v5 and Windows 7 you may experience performance issues while moving or copying and pasting large amounts of geometry. This is due to the 2D rendering changes made by Microsoft with Vista and and more so with Windows 7. These issues have been addressed for DS|Design v6.

If you are using v5 we recommend choosing a Windows 7 basic theme to improve the performance. Updating to v6 alleviates these issues, and this version works best with one of the Aero themes.

You can change themes using the instructions below:

  1. Open Theme Settings by clicking the Start button
  2. Click on Control Panel
  3. Click on Appearance and Personalization
  4. Click on Personalization
  5. Click on one of the Basic and High Contrast Themes ( Windows 7 Basic or Windows Classic theme are recommended for v5)
  6. Click OK

The only drawback we have discovered with this workaround is that you may notice some hesitation when moving modifier panels around on the drawing page in v5. Updating to v6 is recommended.

The system requirements for DS|Design have changed with v6. The changes that Microsoft made for Windows 7 now requires software like DS|Design to make use of your computer’s video card. For this version the quality of the video card and your display settings (themes and DPI) need to be correct in order for DS|Design to perform properly.
